Our Friendly Returns Policy


Our friendly returns policy

We understand that online shopping is not a touchy-feely process and we want you to be comfortable with your purchases.

We are so convinced that you will love whatever you choose that we are happy to offer you a 30 day money back or complimentary exchange policy provided that the items are returned to our online store in their original unused condition with the original packaging and tags.

All undamaged correctly returned products will be refunded to the purchasers bank account as soon as the goods are received by Summer House.

We will reimburse postage for damaged, defective or incorrectly sent items only.

We reserve the right to refuse a returned product that is damaged by the recipient due to lack of care or disregard of care or washing instructions.

How to Make a Return

Contact us by email shirli@summerhousenz.co.nz and we will send you a return form, complete the form including whether you would like a refund OR exchange. Place it in your parcel along with the goods to be returned or exchanged.

Please make sure you give us a daytime telephone number or your email address so we can contact you.

Once we have received the returned products we will notify you by phone or email of your exchange or refund entitlement.

Goods are returned to Summer House NZ at your own expense unless the item is faulty. Please ensure all items are packaged securely and are returned to us by registered mail with a tracking number. Please note that Summer House NZ is not responsible for the damage or loss of items being returned.


You can exchange any goods within 14 days of purchase. If you wish to exchange an item please contact us as soon as possible to reserve another item. Enter the details on the Returns Form with your order of the goods you would like to receive.  If you have decided to exchange for an item with a different dollar value we will credit or debit your card to match the difference. Please do not send us cash or checks, we only deal with electronic payments.

If the same style is being exchanged for a different size or colour, once we receive your return we will send out your new item/items free of charge.


If you wish to receive a credit for your purchase we will apply it as a credit note to your Personal Summer House account and when you make your next purchase you will be able to deduct the value of the credit from the total value on the checkout page. Please note credit notes are valid for 6 months from the date of issue.


Your refund will be credited back to your bank account and will exclude delivery costs, unless the item is faulty. Please be aware it may take several days for the refund to show in your account.

Faulty Goods/Incorrect Items

At Summer House we take great care checking all orders to ensure the goods you receive meet our quality standards and that we are sending you exactly what you asked for. However, if you do receive a faulty or incorrect item, please contact us to arrange a replacement with free delivery.

Faulty or damaged items must be returned within 14 days of purchase.

Please be aware that general wear and tear of products does not constitute a refund. Summer House NZ will where possible replace or repair any goods deemed to be faulty, if purchased within the last 6 months. If we are unable to do this, a credit note or refund will be provided.

Sale Items

We do not accept exchange or refund requests for special product mark downs, samples, sale item or items that are no longer stocked unless the goods are unknowingly defective.
